This year, 21 Turkish students are attending to our summer program from ITU, METU and BU.
Students separated to 2 course; course 1 students mainly attend to the lecture of resilience engineering, on the other course, students experience reserch work at Tokyo Tech; for 3 weeks ~ 2 months.
Their life in Tokyo is as following.
19th July 2016
Same as January, all participants had orientation for the first day of program. After that, Prof. Tekmen from Ankara Univ. and Prof. Furuichi of Utokyo performed crush course about “Japanese Language and Culture”. Students also had a chance to try Japanese traditional tea ceremony. The opening reception got excited with Japanese students, faculties and staff all together. It was impressive that some students introduced themselves with few Japanese words they had learned the afternoon.
20 -22 th July 2016
In UTokyo, intensive lectures were given from professors of several research fields. Course 2 students starts their lab activity in Tokyo Tech.
23 July 2016
On weekend, we enjoyed sightseeing around Tokyo with Japanese students and a volunteer. Asakusa, Odaiba, Tokyo Sky Tree, Summer Festival in Ueno… They seemed to be tired little by this hot and humid climate of Tokyo, but still enjoyed a lot.
25 -28 July
4 private companies(Institute of Nuclear Safety System, Mitsubishi Heavy Industry, Taisei Corporation and Oyo Corporation) kindly arranged internship program for students from Turkey.Japanese students had chance to attend this internship as well.
29th July
Last day for course 1 program.
After the wrapup, certification was passed over to each participant from Prof. Sekimura.
1 Aug. ~ 1 Sept.
In Tokyo Tech, course 2 students are performing their reserch work with host professors. Beside the lab activity, they looks enjoying the life in univ dormitory with room mates from all over the world.
